Birth: At the time of the 1910 U.S. Census for Magoffin Co., KY, Madeline was listed as 16 although her parents had been married only 3 years. The census or transcription was in error. Madaline was only 1 year old in 1910. Madaline was the half-sister of Bertha Marie Salyer Salyer Poye Weiss Puchalski. Bertha was 18 yrs older than Madeline.
Death: She died of congestive heart failure.

Agnes Arnett Howard

Died: Thursday, August 14, 2003 Age: 71 Agnes Arnett Howard, 71, of Niles, Ill., formerly of Magoffin County, died Thursday, Aug. 14, at Lutheran General Hospital, Parkridge, Ill. Born Jan. 7, 1932, in Magoffin County, she was a daughter of the late Shafter and Madeline Powers Arnett. She was retired from G. E. Capital Credit Company. She was preceded in death by two sons, Randy Howard and William E. Howard; and a brother, James Edgar Arnett. Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Howard; two sons, Jimmie Allen Howard of Sarasota, Fla., and Jerry Howard of Niles; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 18, at Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel, Salyersville, with Rev. Matthew Gullion officiating. Burial was in Green Carpenter Cemetery, Royalton, under direction of Magoffin County Funeral Home.
