Elizabeth Owens Joseph was in the group that went west with the Rev. Johnson M. Adams. She married Rev. Adams on 20 Feb 1863. The youngest child, Josephine Joseph was taken with her to Barber Co., Kansas. The oldest child Polly was raised by relatives and married Lark Risner on 4 Nov 1868.

Little is known about Nelson. It is believed he died young. From records compiled by Jean Adams of Hutchinson, Kansas about the Johnson M Adams family and from Len Marshall, grandson of Polly Joseph Risner, we believe the children listed to be correct.
Death: His exact death date is unknown but court records of October 1864 indicate that he predeceased his father.
