Death: At the age of 26, Logan was a Captain in the Confederate Army: Company H, 50th Regiment Virginia Infantry (Floyd's Brigade). His second cousin, Second Lieutenant Shanklin Salyer (36), another second cousin, Sergeant Samuel Salyer (44), Private James Salyers and Private Tyree D. Salyers were in the same Company.

Marriage: Logan and Polly had 9 children.
