Death: Obituary of Noah ALLEN as it appeared in the Ashland Daily Independent, Ashland, KY, 30 Sep 1974, given by John Allen, son of Hatcher Allen: "Noah Allen, age 86, Harper, died Saturday night at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Allen was born June 2, 1888 in Magoffin County, a son of the late W. F. Allen and Frankie Pugh. He was a member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Blankenship Allen; three sons, Walter Allen of Blue Creek, OH; Donnie Allen of Edna, and Custer Allen of Harper; a stepson, Arnold Elam of Verona; a daughter, Mrs. Jan Wells of Crown Point, IN; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Luna Cundiff of Hebron, IN. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Dunn and Kelly Funeral Home in Salyersville by the Rev. Gardner Allen, the Rev. Wheeler Allen, and the Rev. Wooford McGary. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery at Harper."

All of the censuses list Willam and Frankie's places of birth as Kentucky. "William F. Allen and Frankie Pugh were married at Joseph Pugh's home. Witnesses: William Oney; Eli Williams, Minister.
