1900 Census list Charles birth as October, 1869 and his age as 30 yrs. which would have been correct given that the census was taken on June 1, 1900. Other family records list his birth date at September 20, 1870. The 1900 Census list his address as 283 Cedar Street, Buffalo, NY. The Census also lists his wife and children and also his mother-in-law, Mary Duffy, as well as is brother-in-laws and sister-in-law: Bernard and Robert Duffy and Rose Duffy. In addition, is listed his niece, Marion Smyth

1913 Address listed as 112 Brayton Street, Buffalo, NY
Died in 1913 after a fall from the roof of the Church of the Redeemer, at Ferry St and Elmwood on December 28th 1912. The weather was very bad and he was advised not to go but he had a contract that stipulated a finish date, so he went anyway. Obituary on file.
Death Certificate on file list causes of death as hypostatic pneumonia contracted while recovering from broken hip as result of a fall - accident. Address at time of death was 417 Vermont Street.
March 12, 1913: Obituary states that the funeral will take place from the family residence at 112 Brayton Street on the Saturday following death (no time listed) and from the Church of the Nativity at 9:00 AM. He was a member of the fraternal orders of IORM (maybe International Organization of Roofers and Masons?) Tecumtha Tribe No. 207, Nes No. 1 Orioles, Past Sachems' Association of WNY, Seyburn-Liscum Camp No. 12 and Spanish War Veterans and Haymakers No. 315. (Note: his brother, Arthur Maxwell, obituary lists that he was also a member of the Seyburn-Liscum Camp No. 12 and also the Spanish War Veterans).

Marriage: In their early years together, he and Margaret lived in the Armory on Broadway St in Buffalo. There was a room in their next Armory, located on Masten Street, known as the Maxwell Room and featured a stuffed bear. The building burned down and no Maxwell Room was included in the new Armory.
During the Spanish American War, he was in the 74th Army (which later changed its number to the 174th). That Armory is on Connecticut Street, across from D'Youville College.
At age 19 (enlistment) he was 5'4" and listed as a driver from Cold Springs, NY (apparently a section north of the city of Buffalo).
