05-03-1999: Family notes from Gloria Scarpace Caito (b. 1925), written in 1986 to Francis L. Caito (b. 1914) of Batavia, indicates that one of the sisters of Augustino Caito was a Maria Sansone who lived in Italy. Her notes also indicate that there was a sister, Lucia Sansone, who lived in Chicago.

05-21-1999: Information supplied by Gladys Hewitt indicates that Maria Ardizzone Caito and her husband, Andrea, spent their entire lives in Termini and never came to the USA.

08-24-1999: Genealogy Research Report from Kathy Kirkpatrick located the birth of Maria Ardizzone Caito in the Termini Birth Records 1855 (last half) - 1857 (LDS Library microfilm #1688283). The birth occurred or was registered on December 23, 1856. The birth was located in the index but the actual page of the birth record was missing from the filming. We hava a copy of the index page. The parents listed on the index page were Salvatore Ardizzone Caito and Saveria Corso.

05-20-1999: In communications that Gladys Hewitt had with Laura Johnson, Gladys says that Antonino immigrated to the USA with his brother Salvatore (Will) and Frank Catalano (who married Rosa Sansone's (Antonino's wife) sister, Dora).

05-19-1999: Information supplied by Gladys Hewitt indicates that Maria Grace came to the USA about 1902-1903. At the time of her emmigration, her oldest son, Marco Antonio, was still in diapers. Maria and Diego lived in St. Louis for several years. The family moved to Hillsboro, Illinois when their daughter, Rose (b. 1918) was in first grade, approximately 1925. The family was in the produce business for nearly 70 years, extending down to their children, Sara. The business continued until Sara died in 1996

05-21-1999: Phone conversation with Gladys Hewitt indicates that her grandmother, Maria Grace Sansone would choose holidays to celebrate her childrens birthdays. Thefore, Marco's birthday was celebrated on Feb 2 (Groundhogs Day - actual date from SS Index Feb 10th), Ross' birthday was celebrated Nov 25th (Thanksgiving), Sara's birthday celebrated July 4th and her own birthday celebrated December 8th (Feast of the Immaculate Conception).
