This indenture made and entered into this 1st day of March 1855 between Charles Jones of party of the first part and David Salyers of the second part both of the county of Floyd & state of Kentucky, Witnesseth that whereas the -- Jones and wife for deed in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars in hand paid or secured to be paid the receipt wherof is hearby acknowledged have and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff and consideration unto the said David Salyers two certain tracts or parcels of land situate, lying ------ being in said county on Licking River the first of which tract contains 50 acres and bounded as followeth viz. Beginning at a white oak standing at the lower end of the narrows. Thence N 80 W 24 poles to - white oaks! N 5 E 34 poles to a mulberry! N 21 W 48 poles to a small sugar tree! S 88 W 72 poles to a beech, west 80 poles to a sugar maple & beech standing at the upper end of the narrows S 45 W 40 poles crossing the creek to a stake! Thense east110 poles! N88E52 poles! S 2 --- poles! S 15 W 53 poles S 80 E 61 poles! north ----- poles to the beginning. The second tract containing 200 acres by survey by the sau--- more or less and is bounded as followeth. Beginning at a sugar and beech on the east side of Licking River at the upper end of narrows, at the lower end of the ------ cold spring farm, Thence running north 20 poles to a white oak N 87 E 121 poles to a ---- : N 54 E 77 poles to a white oak on a dividing line formerly made between said charles Jones & Thomas Wadkins. Thence running up the river S 27 E. crossing the - river S 32 poles to a beech; S 18 E 47 poles to a chestnut oak and beech oak: S 61 W 17 poles to two beeches : -- 76 W 14 poles to a sourwood & white oak : S 31 W 42 poles to a small double chestnut : West 57 poles to a small beech N 65 W - poles to a beech : N 5 W 32 poles to a poplar : N 75 W 112 poles to a beech. Thence N 2 W crossing the river 50 poles to the beginning. To have and to hold - said two tracts or parcels to ---- the said David Salyar his heirs and assigns face from the olive of ----- our heirs and all persons claiming by through or under ----- In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our names and official seals the date above written
