Ms. Betty Bloomer, 669 Odle Creek Rd., W. Portsmouth, OH 45663 needs proof from a Bible record or other source for the mother of Mary "Polly" Brenton who married John Prater at Bethel, Nicholas Co. KY "at the home of her parents." This marriage took place 28 Nov 1806.
If the marriage record told the names of her parents that document may still be found in that county. Ms. Bloomer went on to say MaryŪs parents were Robert (Henry?) Brenton and Elizabeth Steele who were married in Washington Co. PA 10 Apr 1781. She also asked for a death record showing Mary Brenton died 2 Mar 1866. The answer to this is we do not. Her tombstone reads born 1783 d. 1866 or thatŪs what I copied in 1978. -- Magoffin County Historical Society
