Birth: 09-21-1998: Frank Scarpace (b. 1922) notes that all the children of Augustino Caito (b. Nov. 1845) were born in Termini Imerese. Even though obituaries list Palermo as the birthplace of most of the male children, the most likely birthplace is Termini as Augustino himself was born in Termini (according to his death certificate) and very likely did not move to Palermo temporarily and back to Termini.
Death: 04-17-1974: Obituary notes that he died at St. Jerome Hospital, where he had been a patient since March 26, 1974 (about 3 weeks).

Burial: Funeral services were held on Friday, April 19, 1974 at the H. E. Turner & Co, Inc. Mortuary at 9:30 AM and at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 AM. Memorials were requested to the St. Mary's Parish Immediate Action Fund or St. Jerome Hospital.

Birth: 12-01-1894: Born in either Syracuse or Rochester. Mary Ann Matla Caito remembers hearing that she then moved to ITALY for 10-15 years. After that, she moved back to the USA. Since she was only a child, it was other family members who made the decision to move to ITALY and then back to the USA. The family then moved to Italy for 10-15 yrs.
Death: 09-29-1944: Obituary notes that she was born in Rochester, NY. She certainly had family in Syracuse but it is now questionable in which city she was born.
08-26-1998: Death Certificate on file obtained from City Hall; Batavia, New York Death certificate says she was born in Rochester, NY, Information provided by her daughter, Frances L. Caito. It also states that she resided in Batavia for 32 years, indicating that she lived in Batavia since 1912 (the year of her marriage).
The certificate also notes that she had been treated by Peter J. DiNatale, MD for carcinoma of the rectum from October 1929 until September, 1944. Secondary cause of death was extension of carcinoma to the lungs. Rectal cancer surgery was performed October, 1939 at Buffalo State Hospital for Malignant Disease.

The day of baptism was May 17, 1914. Her Godparents were her father's brother: Salvatore Caito Ardizzone (b. 1882) and her fathers sister: Maria Caito Ardizzone (b. 1894) Her name in the records indicate Frances Caito Ardizzone. The baptism was performed by Rev. G. Loaguzzi.
Death: Address at the time of her death was 51 Woodrow Road, Batavia, NY 14020. She never married.

Her Godparents were Carolus Lonasa (unknown individual to me) and Lucia Caito (her paternal aunt). The baptism was performed by Rev. V. Fassetta. "Lanasa" was the name of her grandmother Mascari's brothers. Her grandmother, Anna Williams (Guglielmino?) Mascari, had at least two brothers: Frank and Philip Lanasa.
