Information from Phil Sansone (b. 1919) says that he heard Mamie remarried in her 80's, which means she would have remarried somewhere in the mid-1970's. Age at time of death was listed on the cemetery provided sheet as 104 years of age! Her birthplace is listed as "SICILY." Address at time of death was "Constance House" in Hollywood, FL Information for the cemetery was provided by her daughter, Jeroma Gustke.

06-23-1999: Obituary obtained from the Syracuse Herald Journal, dated Wednesday May 1, 1996 p. B4. "Mamie Brusca Sansone, 104, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, died Monday in Florida. She lived on Ryder Avenue in Syracuse for many years before moving to Florida 30 years ago. She was a communicant of Most Holy Rosary Church and a member of many senior groups in Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore, and two sons, Frank and Henry.
Surviving are two daughters, Jeroma Gustke of Liverpool and Gloria Anderson of Pembroke Pines, Florida; a sister, Frances Cosentino of Fort Luaderdale, FL; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services were held in Florida. A graveside service will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date.
Contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 1027 E. Genesee Street, Syracuse, 13210. Frasier-Shepardson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Information for the cemetery was supplied by Anna Sansone (most likely her daughter - later to become Anna DiGirolomo) Also, Philip Sansone (b. 1919) believes the he heard that Giuseppi Sansone and Salvatore Sansone married sisters. We know that Salvatore's wife: Mamie had the maiden name of "LaNasa," so it would mean that Josephine's maiden name was "LaNasa" also.

Marriage Note

Maury, was the first in his family to graduate from College, a Brown University Alumnus. He was an All-American football player and outstanding athlete. Separately, in a newspaper article from 1933, when he was a 155-pound college freshman, he had distinguished himself at all of the Brown University's games and was one of the team's foremost candidates for All-American honors and played right-end. He owned a successful Box Manufacturing business.
