Hello cousin! Great to hear from you! Augostino D'amore , my grandfather's brother, married Sophie Caito, whose brother was John B. Caito. One of his daughters married U.S. Senator John O. Pastore (the first Italian American elected to the U.S Senate). These Caitos also came from Termini. The reason I think there is a connection is, Salvatore and Rosina had 7 children. Fransico, Margarita, Josephine, Salvatore, JR (my father), Anthony ,Assunta and Michael. Augostino had 9 children, I don't know all their names.

The first record of Ffulke is a deed he witnessed on Gardiner's Island in 1636. He is mentioned frequently in the early records of Southampton, East Hampton, and Brookhaven. The Collections of the New York Historical Society for the Year 1869, p. 272 is a transcription of a grant from James Farrett, deputy to the Earle of Sterling (Scotland), to Lion Gardiner, of the island, called by the Indians Manchonack and by the English the Isle of Wight. The document was sealed 10 March 1639 and is witnessed by Ffulke Davis and Benjamin Price. According to Gerald Dee Salyer, some researchers mistakenly have read "Price" as "Pine." East Hampton History and Genealogies by J E Rattray mentions Ffulke Davis as one of the 24 early settlers who joined 5 of the original 9 settlers of East Hampton.
Ffulke Davis is listed in the rate list of Newtown (now Jamaica) for the year 1683 with 2 cows, 2 one year olds, 8 of land, 1 head and estates of 39-0-0 .
Ffulke came to Gardiner's Island and settled in East Hampton. He then moved to Brookhaven, then moved again to Jamaica where he died.
A transaction of land to his-son-in law, William Sallire, is recorded in the Brookhaven Town Records, 1662-1679 on p. 87. It is dated 25 Oct 1671 and in the "three and twentieth year of the reign of our sovereign lord Charles the second of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland, King." On page 162 is the record of Ffulke giving his dwelling and some attached land to his son, Joseph. He also gives consent to "make over" the 5 acres of land on the south side of his lot which is 5 acres in exchange (sic).
Ffulke gained some notoriety when he was run out of East Hampton for molesting men. His wife was also evicted for practicing witchcraft.

Edward Caito - I think) to see Michael Degaro, Jr who was arranging a purchase of oranges for his mother's uncle, Guiseppe Joseph Sansone, of Buffalo.

Lived at: 4017 Floral Avenue; Norwood, Ohio (Norwood is near Cincinnati). His mother-in-law, unknown female-1 Longo, lived with him after his wife died.

Born in Wolmans, Belgium - a Flemish province. His mother was Belgium. Father was French. The name was originally spelled De Wil De - designating a knighthood to an ancestor. It was pronounced DE-WIBB-DE, even when he came here to America as a young man. Later it was written DeWilde. Later, the girls, Mary, Florence, Louise and Rose were in school and wrote it as Dewilde leaving off the capital W.

Never was a farmer, but once owned where Van Dyke & Gratiot is now (in Detroit, Michigan). There was a farm, but he rented it out. He was a small man, about 5Ɗ" or 5Ƌ", dark eyes and hair.

He was artistic - did stained glass & had a way of making purple that was very beautiful and would not fade. He also did other work, but I don't remember what.

They had 9 children, but the boys all died before school age. Mary,
Florence,
Louise and Rose all married. The girls went to St. Anthony's school in
Detroit
- Gratiot near East Grand Blvd.

Salvadore Ardizzone Caito was a single male, 25 years old, born in Termini, fisherman, living in Termini, son of Giovanni Battista Ardizzone Caito, 50 years old, fisherman, living in Termini, and Antonina di Blasi, 40 years od, living in the same place. The bride was Saveria Corso, single female, 19 years old, born in Termini, living in Termini, daughter of Agostino Corso, 50 years old, fisherman, living in Termini, and Agostina Spicuzza (spelling?), 43 years old, lviing in the same place.
