Sara Jane is the daughter of John Hockenhull and Mary Anders Kemp his English mistress by whom he had two illegitimate sons (may be more children) before he married Mary Ann Sutton. He sent for her immediately after Mary Ann died of dehydration from seasickness before she ever reached their home. Check on the book, BLOOD KIN by Don Shardurn donshadburn@webtv.net He has a chapter unsanitized that Dr. John Hockenhull wrote about their trip to America. It tells pretty much like it is.
